Professional background: Design, tech, education
As co-founder and Academy Xi's Chief Experience Officer, my focus is on building compelling, meaningful, lasting experiences and to create a platform for people and teams to explore their real power as citizens and contributors to the world at large.
With a background in Design and Technology since 1998, my career has taken me from Sydney, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Auckland, London, Singapore and Melbourne. From my first role as a web designer, I rapidly morphed into an Information Architect, then User Experience Designer all of which pointed to setting up my own UX and Service Design Agency in 2014: Velvet Onion. My vision for Velvet Onion was to create an integrated Agency and teaching facility, which saw the birth of Velvet Onion Academy. After a rapid burst of growth in both the agency and my weekend classes, I met my co-founder, Ben. An alignment of minds and visions brought us to create a new, bold, progressive and inspiring education company: Academy Xi.
My goals in life are simple: educate and empower people to create positive ripples of change. Academy Xi was founded with this unified purpose at the centre of it all. Since 1998, I have been fascinated with design, technology and the impact of such in the human elements shaping our future. I'm passionate about creating experiences that solve real problems for humans in real contexts.
I've worked directly with giants large and small: Xero, Telstra Foundation, Isobar, Dentsu, PwC, ARUP, NSW Department of Education, Department of Jobs & Small Business, News Digital, Westpac, AMEX, CBA, AMP, CGU, NRMA, M&C Saatchi ... to name a few.
I’m interested in the creating a better future, through education and thoughtful experience design.
